My role on the project

A a solo game developper​, I took care of all the tasks necessary to make this game. Here are some details:

Game Design: 3C, Boss Design, Enemy Design, Power-up Design
I started by focusing on the 3cs of the character, how they evolve in the game and interact with enemies and finally how they gain abilities. I then integrated the gameplay loop which restarts the game after 60 seconds. Then I designed enemies and a boss in order to challenge the player's abilities and have the complete game loop.

Level Design: Realized all the level
Wanting a short metroidvania structure that could be explored entirely in 60 seconds, I was inspired by the snail-like layout of the Parisian arrondissements to build the level. Each area can be reached from at least two other areas once the shortcuts have been unlocked in order to allow smooth and quick navigation for the player who has progressed in the game.

Programmation: Programmed all the game mechanics
As a solo developper, i had to develop all the mechanics of this game. It allowed me to iterate on many mechanics to find the perfect balance for the game.

Art: 1 bit Pixel Art aesthetic
Not being an artist, I had to concentrate on an efficient and rapid approach to do all the dressing of the game. I therefore chose this pixel art aesthetic in black and white for its speed of execution as well as its reminder of old gameboy games.
